Abstract: This work deals with an optimal control problem for an Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) model with post-death transmission. The model under consideration describes the interaction between susceptible, infectious, recovered and died human individuals. The proposed control represent the efficiency of vaccination to increase the number of susceptible and decrease the number of infectious individuals. The Pontryagin’s minimum principle is used to characterize this optimal control. The optimality system is derived and solved numerically using the forward and backward difference approximation. Finally, numerical simulations are performed in order to show the role of the proposed program in controlling the Ebola infection.
